Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Generalist supports the school’s day-to-day human resources operations and assists the School Director in executing school goals. This position is responsible for payroll, supporting recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, training administration, coordinating performance evaluation annual process, and ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provides effective support and advice to the school administrative team on personnel and HR issues;
- Prepares and maintains proper legal personnel-related documentation (including offer letters, disciplinary documentation, policy acknowledgements, and employee termination);
- Maintains appropriate up-to-date personnel files, records and data, including staff roster and staff attendance records;
- Conducts and documents exit interviews with employees leaving the organization voluntarily;
- Verifies I-9 information and professional licenses;
- Maintains complete confidentiality when dealing with personnel issues, disciplinary actions and documentation, and employment terminations;
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements;
- Maintains required postings in compliance with federal and state regulations;
- Ensures all required reports (unemployment, Department of Labor-New Hire Reporting, OSHA logs, and Workers Compensation claims, state and local reports, et ) are submitted timely and accurately;
- Ensure accurate display of labor law posters; timely OSHA reporting; and other required reports and
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Coordinate recruiting activities with School Director and SES-US Human Resources to include posting job ads internally/externally; coordinate process to include applicant recruitment and screenings; general interviews; applicant processing/tracking; application/resume acknowledgement; maintain contact with hiring managers throughout recruitment process and during first 90 days of employment;
- Organize new employee packets and conduct new employee orientation;
- Conduct new hire orientation and complete on-boarding
Payroll:
- Ensures payroll is accurate, on-schedule, and records are maintained in accordance with state and federal regulations;
- Performs audits to ensure deductions, garnishments, salaries, are accurate and reports payroll irregularities to SES-US Human Resources and to the School Director;
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Management, and 2-5 years’ human resources generalist experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Comprehensive knowledge of general human resources practices and procedures and HR best practices;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the human resources function;
- Minimum 1 year of payroll processing experience (knowledge and working experience with ADP WorkforceNow in processing payroll and updating personnel records);
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal;
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time-sensitive skills;
- Ability to create positive working relationships with a diverse group of people including gender, ethnicity, age, and cultural and skill level differences;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Professional, courteous and friendly personality;
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines and maintain
