Benefits Counselor
Colonial Life has immediate business opportunities for Life and Health Benefits Counselors to join our growing team. Colonial Life Benefits Counselors offer personal insurance products (Short Term Disability, Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Term Life and Whole Life) to employees and their families at the worksite.
Benefits Counselors are professional individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who focus on educating and empowering employees to make educated benefits decisions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
o Promote the Colonial Life product portfolio through education to various businesses
o Acquire a broad knowledge of Colonial Life’s group and individual voluntary benefits product portfolio and relevant service offerings
o Effectively position products and services to employees
o May be requested to communicate employer sponsored benefits during open enrollment.
o Develop and build relationships with other district representatives to function as part of a team
Benefits Counselor Specifications
o Excellent interpersonal, presentation and critical thinking/problem solving skills
o Strong ability to influence and persuade
o Strong oral and written communication skills
o Self-starter with ability to manage day to day with limited oversight
o Highly energized, motivated self-starter who thrives on a challenge and in a fast-paced environment
o Goal and results oriented
o Demonstrate a “can-do” spirit, a sense of optimism and excitement, ownership and commitment/loyalty
o Strong overall health insurance proficiency is necessary
o Strong overall computer skill including knowledge of Microsoft office – Excel in particular

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
