Community Affairs Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will manage individual programing and assist the Community Affairs team in all endeavors with special attention to the Tour Program, Colorado Rockies Hall of Fame, 50/50 Raffle and the School Program with select game day responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the Following Programs Directly:
- Autographs for Charity Fundraiser:
- Document and process player mail in a timely fashion.
- Organize foundation payment and fulfillment return of items.
- Fun AB
- Maintain and grow relationship with USA Baseball.
- Grow program locally in direct contact with schools.
- Coordinate and deliver educational materials.
- Positive Coaching Alliance Integration
- Add PCA teaching to all youth programing with attention on RBI.
- Summer Sluggers
- Act as club contact for the program
- Coordinate in person events if applicable.
- Donation Drives
- Execute all fan facing and internal donation drives.
- Create and implement new drives and partnerships with local and international nonprofits.
- Assist in delivery and execution of the donation.
Assist the department with these larger programs in the following ways:
- Make an Impact School Program:
- Managing appearance schedule with schools.
- Assembly execution
- Colorado Rockies HOF:
- Assist with day to do day operation.
- Implement tour integration.
- Creative planning behind display plan and theming.
- Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities:
- Aid in the phased growth of the program.
- Attend all coaches’ meetings and trainings,
- Assist in travel arrangements and planning for yearly regional trip.
- Act as a positive liaison with local partners.
- 50/50 Raffle:
- Fulfil credential requests for volunteers.
- Implement training program on assigned game days.
- Assist in analytics, marketing, and legal documentation.
- Tours:
- Aid in the implementation of new tour strategy.
- Research and execute competitive pricing structures.
- Assist in the transition to and upkeep of a digital registration platform.
- Clinics
- Coordinate with community partners on youth softball and baseball programing.
- Assist in scheduling and executing (location, date, time, and participants) each event.
Community Affairs:
This position is responsible for various duties in support of existing programs and initiatives in the Community Affairs department. Duties include and are not limited to participation in community relations events such as baseball clinics, youth baseball/softball camp, outreach initiatives and charity drives. The position is also responsible for support and assistance to the Rockies School program, Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities, the Coors Field Tour Program and during the baseball season, the Rockies 50/50 Raffle Program.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of experience in community affairs or nonprofit industry.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or sports management, and/or combination of equivalent experience
- Must be able to perform physical activities indoors/outdoors which may require lifting, repetitive bending/reaching and running.
- Possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Must have excellent customer service skills with a high level of comfort speaking in front of large groups.
- Must possess the ability to work effectively with a broad range of people both inside and outside the Rockies.
- Must have the ability to maintain a professional working relationship with players and player families.
- Professional image and demeanor with consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office organization.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as well as assigned gamedays.
SALARY RANGE:
- Annual Salary Range: $50,000-55,000. This is a regular status, full-time position eligible for all company benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision), Retirement, and accrued time off (Vacation/ Sick/ Holiday).
