Description of Work Unit
The Assistive Technology Resource Center (ATRC) seeks to ensure equitable access to technology and electronic information for Colorado State University students and employees with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Sections 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Services include assistive technology assessments and training, as well as consultation and education regarding accessibility and universal design of mainstream and instructional technologies. The context of the ATRC allows for individuals to pursue areas of interest in scholarly endeavors and values and supports professional development with the aim of providing best practice for AT service provision in higher education.

Position Summary
The Assistive Technology Service Provider position works directly with employees and students with disabilities needing assistive technology services and assists the larger CSU campus with addressing barriers in the electronic/digital realm all from an Occupational Therapy lens. The position provides a variety of job duties beyond direct AT/ client services to include but not limited to: campus training of faculty and staff, relevant committee involvement, relationship building with other campus support offices, and scholarly work to include dissemination of best practice serving students with disabilities in higher education settings

This is posted as a part-time position, however, there may be opportunities for a full-time position.

Required Job Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (AOTE) certified school.
  • Knowledge of federal and state legislative mandates that prohibit discrimination and ensure equitable access to learning and work opportunities for students and employees with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with a variety of assistive technologies
  • Experience working with and knowledge of mainstream technologies (operating systems, mobile devices)
  • Demonstrated effective collaboration skills and experience working with a team.
  • Demonstrated use of evidence-based best practices for service provision
  • Willingness to supervise and mentor OT fieldwork students
  • Eligible for OT licensure in state of Colorado


Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of accessible electronic information
  • Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Therapy job experience
  • Experience delivering AT services and supports in higher education setting
  • Experience working with assistive technologies
  • Evidence of professional leadership in previous OT job positions
  • Demonstrated commitment to scholarly activities (presentations, teaching, publications, grant writing, research, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CSU’s Principles of Community
