OVERVIEW

Shop Crew play a pivotal role in maintaining our Brooklyn-based paint shop production facility. We’re seeking a proactive individual to complete manual tasks, maintain organization of the shop, and to complete some automotive repair. When not performing minor mechanical duties and coordinating equipment maintenance and repair, this position will provide support for our crew of over twenty painters in all aspects of production. Holding your own in a fast-paced environment is a must.

This job is demanding but very rewarding as well. The ideal candidate would organize the shop, assist with administrative tasks, and be willing to take on construction projects. If you have a passion for helping behind the scenes, this position could be a good fit for you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

• General shop upkeep
• Load and unload trucks for incoming and outgoing crews
• Perform independent tasks based upon general direction
• Maintain, organize, and account for equipment and materials
• Pack, ship and receive materials
• Deliver materials to crews in the field in large vehicles
• Contribute to custom construction projects
• Miscellaneous handy work and maintenance projects

REQUIREMENTS

The Basics:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in construction or a similar setting
• Able to work well in a group setting
• Excels at manual tasks
• Able to adapt to methodical processes on day one
• Meticulous and organized
• Good computer and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Proven professional experience taking action and solving problems
• Experienced New York City driver
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is a plus

• Administrative experience 
• Certified Motor Vehicle inspector card
• A specialty trade such as electrician or carpenter (bonus for outdoor work)
• Automotive experience; enjoys fixing up cars
