About us
Columbia Dream Center is the outreach ministry of Columbia Presbyterian Church. We are a small, faith-based nonprofit providing over 2200 meals monthly from our soup kitchen M-F and community meals two Sunday evenings a month. Additionally, we also provide meals through our year-round homeless ministry at the church. We are committed to the under-served in our community and our goal is to expand our food ministry by providing high quality meals free of charge to the public in need.
A current ServSafe credential is required (food handler minimum, food manager preferred).
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in culinary arts, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have an eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing new recipes, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves to cook and wants to be part of a dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Ensure food safety standards are met.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff.
- Develop menus and recipes that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
- Create cost-effective menus that maximize profits.
- Order food supplies and manage inventory.
