DESCRIPTION
The MDS Coordinator coordinates internal long term care Nursing Facility operations to assure compliance with State Guide lines. Follow all RAI guidelines. Advocates for appropriate utilization of Resident’s benefits. Follows established Philosophy and objectives, policy and procedures of nursing service and contribute to change when necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific develop-mental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning deliver of care. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific develop-mental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning deliver of care Demonstrates knowledge of age specific develop-mental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning delivery of care. Demonstrates knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: Alzheimer’s, dementia, infectious diseases, wound care, and all diseases processes if applicable. Maintains and updates license in compliance with State Regulations. Acts appropriately under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team . Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in unit/shift assignments to meet residents and facility needs. Responds appropriately to behavioral, medical and fire safety situations. Demonstrates responsibility of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Standards Agreement when performing work functions. Aware of Residents Abuse Reporting and Prevention Policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; be licensed as a registered nurse in Oklahoma. Successfully completes facility conducted orientation, mandatory training and in-service programs. Supervisory experience and organizational skills in a long-term care setting preferred. Possess excellent technical assessment and documentations skills, and leadership qualities. Possesses good communication skills and is patient and self-disciplined. Is willing to commit to an interdisciplinary treatment approach to nursing care by exercising sound nursing judgment based on preparation, knowledge, skills, understanding and past experience in nursing situations. Must meet health assessment requirements, including Mantoux skin test and drug screening. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and possess sufficient communications skills to perform the tasks required.
