The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Role Overview
The Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization works at the intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products and next generation technologies that transform the customer experience. The Multichannel Video Programming Distributor & Global Operator (MVPD-GO) team is tasked with bringing our best in class products and services to other MVPDs and Operators across the globe. We embrace the mindset of two-way partnerships with our MVPD & Operator customers to drive innovation, improve speed to market and increase revenue while maintaining the ultimate customer experience. A lot of big words, I know … Simply put, we partner with other cable providers to license our Comcast technology and products to help them drive their strategic business objectives.
This role will support MVPD-GO initiatives related to Partner management, communications, program management, and enhancing internal team processes. Cross-functional collaboration is at the core of all these initiatives and as such, the ability to interact and work with a variety of personalities and cultures is vital to success. An ability to demonstrate mutual respect and a genuine team-first mentality are strongly desired. This position will gain valuable insight into how an enterprise wide program management organization drives cross-company prioritization, execution of strategic initiatives, and delivery of business results.
Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage individual program status, identify risks as needed and share information
Develop, maintain, and manage action item registers and major milestone timelines for all assigned projects
Monitor and create project deliverables
Drive cross-functional efforts to resolve program blockers
Prepare for and attend internal program update meetings
Prepare for and attend external Partner management meetings
Facilitate internal team meetings
Proactive engagement in self-development and networking opportunities
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university that has a cooperative learning track
Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 20th, 2021.
Preferred Majors: Business Analytics, Business Administration, Business & Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Communications, Entrepreneurship & Innovation
3.2 minimum cumulative GPA preferred
Business or Technology major recommended, with focus in project/program management, a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Strong emotional intelligence
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good problem-solving ability
Flexibility to adapt and respond to changing priorities and requirements
Genuine, positive attitude with the desire to learn
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
