The Engineer 4 Reliability Engineering will provide end-to-end production support for Enterprise Applications. This team is tasked with supporting OSS/BSS, Middleware, CARE Applications/Tools, Tech applications/Tools and Data Management Systems, including billing, provisioning, activation, authentication, transaction processing and location service applications.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the development, deployment, and maintenance of our in house software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance system performance, and ensure the seamless delivery of our products.
As a seasoned Engineer, you will be well-versed in modern development methodologies, cloud technologies, and automation tools. Your expertise will be crucial in bridging the gap between development and operations, enabling us to deliver reliable and efficient software solutions to pur internal groups.
Core Responsibilities
- Drives issues through closure engaging all appropriate resources. Leads technical bridges and provides troubleshooting direction. Provides guidance and recommended solutions to complex technical issues.
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications, using technologies such as Angular, Java, Python, Scala, and Spark.
- Lead the development and implementation of robust, user-friendly Angular UI components and applications, ensuring a seamless and effective user experience.
- Utilize Apache Spark to process, analyze, and manage large datasets in real-time, optimizing performance and scalability for telecom-specific use cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, build software architectures, and develop high-quality solutions.
- Implement and optimize technologies to improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Adhere to software development best practices, industry standards, and company guidelines while ensuring code quality, maintainability, and extensibility.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and tools, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, natural language processing.
- Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies and processes. Ensures projects are fully integrated into the operations environment including lifecycle problem management from front line CARE through Engineering.
- Creates data and metric systems to track operational workflows; maintains records of results and feedback. Analyzes data and metrics, identifies problem areas and provides actionable insight to management.
- Provides input to engineering and vendors on defects and required enhancements. Attains all relevant industry standard technical certifications.
- Reports performance related to operations and project status to management. Identifies and recommends areas requiring change or modification.
- Performs complex and routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering. Identifies and isolate issues. Ensures that all maintenance is properly validated to minimize subscriber impact to (ideally) zero.
- Serves as team lead on multiple projects, often spanning different engineering disciplines within the organization.
- Leads the integration of projects into operations including instrumentation, automation, standardization and methods/procedures.
- Expert knowledge and application of project management skills, process design and redesign skills.
- Applies advanced engineering methodologies in one or more engineering areas.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Ability to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital.

Job Specification:
- Proficiency in Angular, Java, Python, Scala, and Spark.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Familiarity with ITIL and/or eTOM frameworks.
Nice to have:
- Experience with big data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Apache Flink, or Apache Beam.
- Experience in develop, implement, and maintain machine learning and artificial intelligence models to solve complex business problems and optimize various processes.

Pay Range: This job can be performed in Denver Campus, with a Pay Range of $101,699.24 USD - $152,548.86 USD
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
