Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist is a customer facing point of contact for the CVG Accounts Receivable team. They are responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts, addressing customer issues, and collecting past due balances. This individual should be prepared to reconcile open AR balances, which involves working with various internal departments to resolve billing disputes and resolve outstanding issues. They will also need to access customer portals and analyze the data when reviewing accounts. The specialist must be detail oriented and have extremely strong customer service skills. Successful candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and experience working in a collaborative, team environment.

Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following)

• Provide excellent customer service at all times while collecting on past due balances.
• Communicating with customers via email, letters, in-person meetings, and telephone calls
• Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts.
• Researching customer accounts to resolve past due balances.
• Resolving account adjustments, discrepancies, and short payments.
• Must communicate with the sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis and partner with commercial teams and senior management when necessary to accelerate and support the collections process.
• Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payments for outstanding balances.
• Generate and send out customer statements.
• Submit daily invoices to customers.
• Monitor customer account status and credit availability.
• Execute all functions in adherence to company policies and controls.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

• 1 year business to business high volume corporate collections experience
• Excellent customer service skills; demonstrate a friendly attitude in working with all levels within the organization.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to actively listen.
• Independent and organized work style; effectively manage time and multiples tasks without close supervision while meeting deadlines.
• Operate in a fast paced, ever-changing manufacturing environment; adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Proficiency with MS Office to include Excel, working knowledge of ERP and financial systems with high attention to detail.
• Must possess basic math & analytical skills, ability to work with confidential information.

• The Collections Specialist reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager
