Overview

CommIT Enterprises, Inc is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Administrator to join our HR team in Stafford, VA or Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the HR department with a focus on data collection and reporting to align with the requirements of government contracting compliance initiatives.  As such, the HR Administrator will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate employee records, processing HR transactions, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

 

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCCS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

 

Government Compliance:

  • Stay current with and ensure adherence to government regulations and compliance requirements related to HR data management within the contracting industry.
  • Maintain practices that align with government contract specifications.

Record Maintenance:

  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage electronic and hard-copy filing systems for HR documents.

Data Collection and Reporting:

  • Collect and manage HR data with a focus on government contract-specific metrics, such as affirmative action reporting, EEO compliance, and workforce demographics.
  • Process HR-related transactions, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
  • Input and update employee information in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System).

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Prepare and distribute HR-related documents, including offer letters, contracts, and employee handbooks.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Benefits Administration:

  • Support benefits administration processes, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to resolve benefits-related issues.

Employee Onboarding:

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation sessions and necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining onboarding materials.

HR Communications:

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of internal HR communications.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.

Support for HR Programs:

  • Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred or 5 years of human resources experience with a minimum 3 years’ experience in government contracting industry.
  • Proven experience in HR administration or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct to include discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proven time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
