Responsibilities
The Intern Pharmacist must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy with the expectation of becoming a pharmacist. The Intern Pharmacist will assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records. The Intern Pharmacist will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to perform: - The Intern Pharmacist will be trained initially to be competent in all aspects of a Pharmacy Technician. - Operational support functions such as billing/crediting controlled substance processing inventory control and training. - Distributional support functions including electronic profiling timely and accurate labeling and preparation of products in compliance with P&P/rules/regulations and daily operation/oversight of the Automated dispensing 'Robot-Rx'. - When appropriately trained assume the duties of a pharmacist under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. - When appropriate additional training will be initiated for training as a pharmacist.
Qualifications
- Must have current California Board of Pharmacy Intern License.
- Must be currently enrolled in a School of Pharmacy with the expectation of graduating as a Pharmacist or BS in Pharmacy with application submitted for CA pharmacist license.
- Knowledge of Federal and State laws regulations and standards regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services.
- Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient's medical management plan.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
