DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Management Efficiency Review Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising Management Audit Division staff in the Eastern Region who are engaged in conducting management audits and management efficiency investigations of regulated fixed utilities and monitoring the performance of outside consultants selected for such work. Supervision of these audits requires on-site visits, which may require moderate to heavy travel including periodic overnight stays. You will also function as the Eastern Region's in-house expert supervisor responsible for providing technical advice on operational auditing matters to Management Efficiency Review Auditors, Management Efficiency Review Engineers, and consultants.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Audit Manager to plan, organize, and supervise Eastern Division operations, auditing, and reporting functions.

  • Planning, organizing, supervising, and participating in the work of audit teams engaged in performing staff assigned management audits and management efficiency investigations of fixed utilities.

  • Developing individual project manpower and expense budgets, time schedules, and assigning personnel as required.

  • Assuring completion of individual audit engagements in accordance with GAO auditing standards, overall audit objectives, policies, and procedures.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Working from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. You will be required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless eligibility requirements have been met and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
    • To be eligible to participate in telework, your alternate (telework) worksite must be located within reasonable travel distance to Harrisburg. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Management Efficiency Review Auditor 2; or
  • One year as a Management Efficiency Review Engineer 2; or
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in operational auditing of utility operations or in managing utility operations; and a Bachelor's Degree that includes 24 credit hours of accounting, or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Hydraulic, Sanitary, or Civil Engineering; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
