Chief Purpose of this position: We are seeking a Pediatric Residency Program Director that will help to lead our outstanding Pediatric Residency Programs. Position Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Faculty will oversee the pediatric residency program as well as provide guidance and mentorship to Residents, Chief Residents, and Fellows as the Program Director
- Research: Faculty member will be expected to have an interest in an area of research related to pediatrics and pursue external funding opportunities as well as serve as a research mentor to other members of the division and the department of pediatrics.
- Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as professional activities through journal review, and conference presentations.
- Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a General Pediatrician for the Department of Pediatrics providing high quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Required Qualifications:
- Board certified or board eligible in General Pediatrics
- Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of leadership experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

- Interest and experience in working with General Pediatrics
