Specialist Forensic Liaison

POSITION SUMMARY: Works within regional crisis programs to provide training, liaison, education and peer support to military groups and veterans, local law enforcement, officers of the court, jail staff and associated community partners

QUALIFICATIONS: High school education with ten years of law enforcement experience to include completion of Crisis Intervention Team training. Ability to work as an effective team player is essential. Must provide own transportation.

SKILL SETS: Organizational and adequate communication skills, process verbal and written instructions, computer proficiency, methodical approach to problem solving, work under stress and tight deadlines, interact effectively with the public and staff, adaptability-able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for updating files and completing documents. Hearing and talking is necessary to answer phone and talk with employees and other individuals. Manual dexterity is required to perform work processing and other clerical duties.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

• Serves as liaison to ACT Team, law enforcement, officers of the court, and community stakeholders.
• Educates local law enforcement / court officers regarding consumer/participant needs and plan(s) to facilitate residential stability and community integration.
• Acts as an advocate and liaison between client and the forensic community agencies for resources and access to services especially related to benefits and housing
• Provides direct service including crisis intervention
• Enters accurate and up to date documentation as needed.
• Compiles and submits accurate reports to include interpretation of data as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Adheres to Communicare, Inc. policies and procedures.
• Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
