Responsibilities include:
Teller Responsibilities
· Perform paying and receiving functions for customers. This will include taking deposits, withdrawals, and transfers from customers. Additionally, the Lead Teller may sell cashier’s checks, gift cards and help customers with additional related services
· Lead Teller will understand the related laws and compliance regulations that pertain to teller duties. Examples include Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, and Funds Availability Policy.
Supervision of Teller Staff
· Evaluate employee performance and provide leadership to department.
· Work with AVP Retail Banking Manager to set goals and objectives for department
· Work with SVP Retail Banking to provide support & training to teller staff at all locations to ensure tellers provide service that meets the bank’s service expectations, follows the bank’s offage policy, and complies with applicable regulations.
· Assist with orientation and training of new staff at the Madison branch and provide ongoing training for existing teller staff at the Madison branch.
· Work with AVP Retail Banking Manager to prepare teller schedule for Madison.
· Coaches and mentors staff individually and as a group to ensure department is working toward the overall bank goals for service and growth.
· Leads teller staff, assisting in training, coaching, solving customer problems, and provides guidance to tellers regarding policies and procedures.
· Monitors teller work activity– observes, coaches and counsels tellers; administers on-the-spot corrective action; recommends remedial teller training as necessary to AVP Retail Banking Manager.
· Assists tellers when balancing problems occur - using knowledge of common errors; verifies cash when overages/shortages occur; gives transaction approvals as necessary.
Cash Balancing
· Must make certain that the cash assigned to the Teller balances on a daily basis. Must keep cash secure at all times.
· Must keep cash drawer within assigned drawer limits.
· Offages are not to exceed the annual limit as assigned in the job description outline.
Customer Service & Sales
· Teller will provide a superior level of customer service. This includes understanding customer needs, as well as understanding the bank products offered in order to provide the highest level of customer service.
· The Lead Teller will support the overall office sales effort and incorporate into their daily routine. Direct sales goals may be established by management for such items as ATM cards, direct deposit, automated banking, or referrals for other bank products.
· Will be aware of overall bank product offering and will be able to refer customers to appropriate departments within the bank for service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
