JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Medical Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Clinical Services Manager
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Community Check-Up Center (CCC) is a non-profit health center providing quality care to Harrisburg’s diverse and underserved children and adults. All are welcome, respected and treated regardless of their ability to pay. CCC strives to partner with other health and non-profit organizations to support our patients and their neighborhoods.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for coordinating the daily administration of patients, visitors, staff and providers at the Center. As an active member of the healthcare team, the Medical Receptionist must support the mission of the Community
Check-Up Center and provide services consistent with our philosophy and medical standards.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1 welcomes patients and visitors; handling in-person and telephone inquiries, appointment requests, and scheduling issues
2 performs required health screenings to minimize patient/staff risk of infectious diseases
3 assists patients with pre-registration, verifies and updates patient details in the
Center’s electronic health records
4 verifies patient identification and insurance information
5 collects patient co-pays and balances during check-in
6 manages required personal, financial, privacy, health-related documentation
7 oversees patient flow, notifying provider of patient’s arrival and service delays
8 maintains waiting room cleanliness and order.

9 supports operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes
10 other duties as assigned by management
11 Responds to in-person or electronic record and form requests.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1- year experience in a healthcare facility
- Professional written and verbal communication experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPPA regulations, patient records system
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Bilingual (able to read, write, speak English and Spanish fluently)
- Communicates in a caring, compassionate manner with children and adults
- Demonstrates professional in-person and telephone skills
- Possesses time management and organization skills
- Is able to multi-task and maintain attention to detail
- Protects patient rights
- Maintains a professional approach to appearance, punctuality and attendance

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
