Mutual Support Specialist

This position is part- time consisting of 15-20 hours a week. You will be responsible for working with the advocates and peer specialist to create opportunities for peers to integrate into the community with a focus on promoting recovery and independence through mutual support and training.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Self starter

Job Responsibilities:

• Promote individuals & families to volunteer within the community
• Promote independence with individuals & families
• Promote community integration and involvement
• Research materials individuals can utilize for their recovery while at home
• Promote and administer Wellness Recovery Action Plan as needed
• Adhere to all the agencies policies and procedures
• Support parent’s/ individual’s through
• Peer Support Group
• Mutual Support Conversations
• Connection to community groups
• Promote all services being offered at CCFC and make in house referrals as needed
• Keep statistical data to report to supervisor weekly and monthly
• Accurately complete all paperwork per agency guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality of individuals receiving services
• Obtain 5 CEU’s a year as outlined by NYS Peer Certification Board
• Any other job duty as assigned
• Strong computer skills in words & excel
• Posses a valid driver’s license, car insurance, registration and inspection
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to clear NYS Justice background check
• Not listed on the staff exclusion list
• Ability to make decisions within the guidelines of the agencies policies and procedures, state and federal laws
• NYS Peer Certification within 6 months of hire date

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
