Job Duties
The Director of Nursing supports the clinical and business direction of Maternity Services with an emphasis on the strategic planning and business development, clinical outcomes, quality management and excellence in customer service. The position provides the leadership and direction to develop, recommend and implement programs, policies, procedures and standards. The position reports to the VP of Nursing/CNE of the hospital.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Must be a Bachelor’s in nursing if starting without a Master’s degree in nursing.
  • Master’s degree required within five years of hire.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive management / leadership experience required.
  • Five (5) or more years of nursing experience required. Maternity experience preferred.
  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse License required.
  • Certification in relevant specialty or nursing administration required within three (3) years of hire.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization verbally, in writing, and through technology such as dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Independently resolve problems, plan strategically, and think creatively and critically.
  • Gain and use knowledge of best practices, processes, laws, regulations, tools, and software within the subject matter area of this position.
  • Work analytically.
  • Build, motivate, and lead a high performing team.
