What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Heart Special Procedure Tech position at Community Healthcare System?
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Assists the interventional cardiologist and/or cardiovascular surgeon in the performance of Structural Heart and Special procedures. Skills and knowledge will be utilized in a variety of interventional procedures. Shares responsibility in the acquisition and processing of state-of- the-art imaging and the efficient operation of equipment in the Cath Lab and Hybrid Room. The Technologist's primary responsibilities will be in the area of physiologic monitoring, medical instrumentation operation, use of permanent fluoroscopic and digital x-ray systems, and other diagnostic and therapeutic devices.
The Technologist is considered to be a high-level technical person possessing advanced knowledge in cardiac hemodynamics, mechanical and electronic medical instrumentation who has demonstrated an ability to work within a team and independently. Imaging Technologist to perform specialized digital angiography imaging utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during Adult Structural and Special Catheterization Lab procedures.
The Technologist must be willing and able to be on-call in a primary or secondary role. The optimal candidate must be available within thirty minutes travel time when on call.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
- Graduate of an A.R.R.T. certified school of radiological technology.
- Must be ARRT registered.
- Must have a current license to operate radiologic equipment in the State of Indiana.
- 2-3 year's experience in Structural Heart and Complex Cardiac/Vascular procedures preferred.
- 1-2 year's experience in Cardiac Catheterization required
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) encouraged.
- Has an advanced working knowledge of Structural Heart and Complex Cardiac/Vascular angiographic procedures and sterile techniques.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months from starting date.
- Successful completion of basic arrhythmia course is required within 6 month from starting date.
