We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Volunteer Services to lead our volunteer program at Community Hospital. The Director will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, as well as coordinating activities related to the gift shop. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and community engagement within our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers to support various hospital departments and programs, including the gift shop.
- Coordinate volunteer assignments and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and support for hospital operations, including gift shop shifts.
- Provide leadership and supervision to volunteer coordinators and support staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Oversee the daily operations of the hospital gift shop, including inventory management, sales, and customer service.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards of conduct for volunteers and gift shop staff in alignment with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with hospital departments and staff to identify volunteer opportunities and support initiatives that enhance patient care and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, hours worked, gift shop sales, and inventory, and generate reports as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program and gift shop operations and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program outcomes and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare administration, social work, volunteer management) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in volunteer management, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of volunteers and staff.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on quality improvement and best practices.
Pay & Benefits:
This position's hiring range is: $35.00 - $40.25 per hour, depending on education and experience.
