Summary Description
The parts manager strives to return a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in the parts inventory and accomplishes objectives using proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, displaying, advertising, and security.
Essential Responsibilities
- Forecasts goals and objectives and strives to meet them
- Hires, trains, motivates all parts department staff & monitors performance
- Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, walk in customers as well as the sales department
- Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence
- Supervises all ordering procedures
- Establishes and supervises all internal procedures to ensure smooth daily operations
- Enforces safety requirements associated with handling of HAZMAT related parts and materials
- Communicates with and assist Manufacturer’s representative i.e., District Parts and Service manager & Parts Operations team
- Performs all duties related to monthly closeout
- Assures customer satisfaction and handles complaints immediately in a professional manner
- Provides assistance with any other parts related situation that may arise
- Ability to perform all tasks required of parts department staff
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to communicate and listen effectively
- Ability to multitask efficiently
- Customer service experience preferred
- Honda Parts related experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Knowledge of automotive DMS programs preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Good organizational skills required
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages and ratios
- Ability to identify and adjust to problematic situations
Physical Demands
- Work environment with moderate noise level & frequent climate changes
- Requires the use of both hands
- Ability to sit for an extended period
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling of items/equipment and lifting more than 80lbs. of material possible
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
