Program Coordinator- SONYC AfterSchool Program Supervise and manage program operations
Develop and maintain a fun, safe and respectful environment for students Personally provide and engage staff in regular student recruitment outreach efforts in order to meet contractual obligations
Recruit, hire and train new staff Monitor, coach and counsel staff regularly to ensure the delivery of effective services Provide monthly formal staff supervision meetings Assess staff performance for annual evaluation Monitor the fiscal needs of the program while working closely with the Program Supervisor Participate in the negotiation of contractual obligations Develop and monitor relationships with funders and school administration Comply with all record-keeping & documentation requirements
Maintain daily attendance and enrollment for all participants (logs/ DYCD online) Implement rewards systems for students and ensure that incentives are disbursed in compliance with funder/departmental guidelines
Prepare and submit programmatic reports according to funding source and dept. requirements Maintain all required program logs (fire drill, incident, recruitment etc.) and submit injury reports within specified timeframes
Ensure staff compliance with all required documents (lesson plans, logs, injury logs) Perform quality assurance function
Ensure contractual compliance with implementation and funding/department mandates Track, monitor and submit all mandated departmental reports Ensure that a corrective action plan is in place in areas identified as deficient Monitor and assess the presentation and client receptiveness to the program Supervise implementation and operation of program initiatives to ensure that they are goal driven Incorporate youth development principles within program Participate as a member of the CMS team
Adherence to CMS policies and procedures Model professionalism and the founding principles of CMS Enhance community awareness of the program by participating in networking and community based activities Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential referral sources Share knowledge of existing resources and contribute new ideas Participate in unit initiatives and agency-wide committees Partner with other CMS programs (i.e.- workshops) Meet with the Program Supervisor regularly for supervision Qualifications & position requirements
BA/BS in related field plus 2-4 years of prior experience in the youth development field Previous experience working with Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) highly valued Bilingual highly desired, but not required. Organized with good time management skills Optimistic about change and flexibility with problem solving Must be able to work effectively with a team Commitment to coaching staff to ensure service delivery requirements are met Participate in ongoing trainings as required for SACC license and professional development needs Work schedule based on program needs and is subject to change where necessary
