What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outpatient Surgery - Registered Nurse position at Community Medical?
Outpatient Surgery (RN)
Status/FTE: PRN / 0.2 FTE
Shift length: 10-12 hours
Start Time: 0600
Unit: Outpatient Surgery
Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): No Holidays, minimum of 12 shifts per 12 weeks or 3-month evaluation period per RN contract.
Required qualifications:
- Current state RN License
- Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
- BLS for Healthcare Provider and ACLS and PALS required upon hire
- Must complete moderate sedation course within 3 months of hire
- Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required
Preferred qualifications:
- BSN Preferred.
- CAPA or CPAN Certification preferred.
- Two (2) years Pre-Op, PACU, or Acute Care experience preferred.
- Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred.

Additional Information/Department information: The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the perioperative setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in all surgical procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents. Manages patient loads in assigned timelines.
