What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Phone Nurse position at Community Memorial Hospital?
Assesses patient/family needs; plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates care for patients. Participates in patient and family education. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with all ancillary and patient care team members. Consistently demonstrates standards of professional nursing practices in all clinic settings. Fulfills job duties as listed and any other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Ohio. CPR is required.
Prior Work Experience:
Prior nursing experience in a physician office setting is preferred.
Skills:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide results and referrals by phone. Must be able to work independently.
Excellent time management and organizational skills are very helpful. Requires excellent communications skills, both oral. Interpersonal, and written, as well as being computer literate.
Independent Judgment:
Handles confidential information. Must use good judgment and common sense in determining the need to contact a physician/Director of Physician Services or the Manager of Physician Services.
