Summer Lunch Coordinator

Overview:
Community Outreach Ministries (COM) is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Summer Lunch Coordinator. The Summer Lunch Coordinator will work with the Polk County Health Center, local volunteers, and COM staff to successfully oversee and execute a summer lunch program for children during the months when students are out of school. Responsibilities will include designing the daily lunch menu, recruiting and coordinating volunteers, overseeing the preparation and serving of meals, and ensuring accurate grant reporting to Ozarks Food Harvest under the SFSP grant.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Polk County Health Center and local organizations to recruit, train, schedule, and oversee local volunteers to cook and serve meals during the summer lunch program. (25%)
• Develop a daily menu for all weeks of the summer lunch program and ensure that foods served meet the nutritional guidelines to be reimbursable under the SFSP grant program. (15%)
• Ensure all necessary foods for meals served are purchased. Coordinate grocery runs and milk orders. (15%)
• Identify ways in which the summer lunch program can be used to connect with and build relationships with local families and further the mission and key outcomes of COM. (15%)
• Promote the summer lunch program within the community through fliers, social media, and in-person conversations. (10%)
• Work with the Food Pantry Manager to ensure proper storage of food for the lunch program and to create separate storage areas from other pantry food. (5%)
• Work with the Executive Director to collect and retain all necessary receipts, invoices, nutrition facts, and other documentation necessary for submitting grant reports to Ozarks Food Harvest. Complete and submit grant reports prior to the reporting deadlines. (10%)
• Implement surveys or other means to determine the effectiveness of the summer lunch program. (5%)

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years old
• High School Diploma required
• Have a valid Missouri Driver's License
• Proficiency with Google Suite products (Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Meet, etc.) and Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate and lead large groups of volunteers in work projects.
• Be in good physical condition and be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Shall not be the perpetrator in a substantiated report of neglect or abuse.
