Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Greet clients and complete check-in process for appointments, input and retrieve information from computer, letting the medical team know the patient has arrived.
- Assist clients with check-out including, ensuring services and product sales are correctly accounted, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment, and setting future appointments for follow-up visits.
- Answer phone calls from clients requesting appointments, requesting medication refills and call into pharmacy if needed as authorized by a veterinarian, listen to client concerns and relay information to doctors and technicians.
- Check hospital email and text message service to ensure all client communications are up to date.
- Make phone calls to remind clients of upcoming appointments as well as reminding owners to set appointments for pets due for services, etc.
- Learn common hospital vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology and pet behavior.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
Technology Skills
- Computer skills - moderate understanding of software such as Microsoft Office.
- Software - basic understanding of POS systems and email.
