This is a full-time position.
What your daily responsibilities look like:
- Possess superior knowledge in all aspects of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Distribution Safety; lockout/tagout, machine safety, chemical safety, powered industrial truck, respiratory protection, emergency management systems, and personal protective equipment as well as proficient in hazard communication
- Must have a keen eye for details and be adept at recognizing and complying with government regulations (OSHA 1910) and industry-specific safety standards
- Employ excellent communication skills when providing jobsite safety orientation and skillful in mentoring/coaching employees in safe work practices
- Conduct routine (daily and weekly) workplace safety inspections and prepare written reports on their findings
- Proficiency in reviewing safety data sheets (SDSs) for chemicals brought onsite
- Ability to develop and implement site EHS program and trainings in alignment with corporate policies
- Inspect work areas to ensure compliance with work standards
- Ensure employees have proper PPE / safety equipment
- Update current or prepare new job hazard assessments
- Inspect hazardous materials storage and waste storage areas
- Sign waste manifests
- Implement client's specific work standards
- Follow through on incident reporting and investigations
- Participate in audits
- Report to client's Business Unit Operations and EHS manager
- EHS related statistics reporting/maintain data in client's proprietary system (training records, PPE, incidents, waste records, etc..)
- Ensure employees complete EHS training
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Education: B.S. in Occupational Safety or equivalent work experience and Certifications as GSP preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience (manufacturing / general industry). Ergonomics and risk assessment experience a plus
- Location: Global manufacturing client facility Site (5 days/ week)
- Travel: Ability to get to and from work site 5 days/week.
