Role description:
As a Construction Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our construction projects. This position reports directly to ownership and will have a primary role in the daily transactional activities of the company, as well as providing key support to billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Performing monthly close activities, including reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Maintaining the company’s accounting system and files.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Proven experience with a construction company, with knowledge of construction accounting.
- 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, with knowledge of
GAAP accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work on-site in Chicago metropolitan area.
