What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Specialist position at CONAGRA?
You will report to the Sr. Quality Specialist in our Marshall, MO plant to implement quality programs within a given functional area of the Quality group. Support management with relevant quality procedures and the daily execution of activities. Participate on teams for quality initiatives. Bring forward to Quality Management observed needs for Quality improvement. Implement programs within given functional area of the food safety and quality group.
You Will:
- Gather and study data to understand trends and issues to provide input to decisions related to product safety and quality.
- Assist or supervise others in the organization.
- Collaborate and provide technical support to appropriate functions to assure food safety and quality of company products.
- Gauge and evaluate effectiveness and assure continuous improvements in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Participate on teams to assure implementation and adherence of QA initiatives and process improvement of our suppliers.
- Provide support to facility to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality.
- Responsible for the facility Recipe Management and COA process.
You Have:
- BS in Food, Biological or Chemical Science or related field required or 4 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant area of responsibility.
- Statistical, data-driven report writing skills.
- Knowledge of government regulatory requirements in food packaging (GFSI, FSMA, FDA, USDA).
- Demonstrated strength in Leadership.
- Troubleshooting, data analysis, and investigative skills required.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, you will travel independently and as a responsible company representative.
- SAP experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, walk and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day.
- Climb to various heights via stairs, push/pull various plant materials and/or equipment.
- Maneuver in cramped/confined spaces.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per workday to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies.
- Frequent bending and/or crawling; must be able to move safely and freely around machinery.
