The Telecommunications Tax Analyst is responsible for providing broadband and VoIP regulatory and taxation support to internal and external customers. The Telecommunications Tax Analyst will research tax rates and filing processes, prepare tax matrices across multiple states and jurisdictions, and work with internal and external clients to implement taxation in billing systems. The Telecommunications Tax Analyst will be able to research and explain tax treatment. This individual will research mechanisms for accurate and efficient sales taxes and indirect taxes/surcharges remittance for external customers and ensure internal filings are completed on time. The Telecommunications Tax Analyst will develop tools and trackers to facilitate better analysis of emerging issues or identify inconsistencies in treatment to ensure appropriate review and oversight of taxation.
Prior experience with VoIP state and federal legislation and regulations are essential. Flexibility and ability to multi-task and be self-motivated to achieve results are crucial to success.
Requirements
Responsibilities/Duties Include but not limited to:
- Effectively research taxation of product offerings, retaining documentation of citations and drivers for recommendations. Communicate effectively with regulators and tax authorities as needed.
- Manage compliance with state and federal broadband and VoIP regulations. Ensure USAC filings are completed accurately and completely on time.
- Work with and summarize complex input.
- Work effectively with internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate regulatory and compliance guidance.
- Work with customers to launch and operate VOIP services, including but not limited to explaining Federal Universal Service Fund and Form 499 filings.
- Work with tax experts and regulatory attorneys to obtain advice when additional guidance is required.
- Anticipate and make recommendations to meet customer needs.
- Work with a creative team to bring ideas into the mix, offer suggestions and research. Demonstrate ability to share information and constantly learn new processes and technology.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work experience
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, in a clear and straightforward manner, with all levels of internal and external organizations
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, ability to prioritize and organize effectively, ability to manage to firm deadlines are required for this position
- Ability to work well autonomously, as well as be a part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to efficiently use a personal computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook / SharePoint)
- Knowledge of federal and state Broadband and VoIP regulations
- Knowledge of Broadband and Voice telecom products and services
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated ability to perform research and synthesize for management
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently
- Suretax experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Normal office conditions, some irregular hours may be required. Majority of time spent on the computer and phone.
