Clinical Supervisor
Behavioral Health
Department of Tribal Health
Hourly Wage: $53.37/Regular/Full-Time/Supervisory
Responsible for overseeing and developing the Clinical department including hiring, clinical supervision, evaluations, and scheduling. Develop, plan, and implement strategies for program continuation and growth for Behavioral Health Services. Provide clinical training to clinical staff and interns. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the agency and its overall success. This position provides both clinical and personnel supervision of the clinical staff. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills and maintain and improve the current system for effective coordination of services with other Tribal and non-Tribal programs. Is also responsible for provision of 3rd party billing for mental health services provided by YNBHS.
Examples of Work Performed:
Supervise and oversee all aspects of the clinical department following the agency mission demonstrated by setting departmental goals and objectives. Evaluate existing 638 contract compliance, monitoring and reporting to ensure all goals are being met.
Provide individual clinical case staffing with Therapists to assure program is meeting Standard of Care service delivery with patients.
Project, develop, and monitor revenue and expense budget for fee for service programs that includes Medicaid, private pay, EPSDT and/or Victims of Crime funding. Work effectively with Finance staff to develop an efficient billing system.
Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs with particular emphasis on services for underserved populations, oversight of program evaluation and quality assurance functions for department including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for clients. Ensure contract compliance for department and personnel within the department. Initiate, implement, and monitor compliance with evidence-based practices.
Work with other members of the management team to assure successful communication and coordination between Tribal programs and participate in strategic planning.
Regularly provide clinical training to clinical services staff and interns.
Recruitment of clinical interns, conduct outreach and maintain working relationships with graduate schools.
Provides testing, intake assessment, diagnosis, and identifies resources for support services; includes therapy and case management to identified children, families, and adults in a culturally competent manner within the most appropriate environment.
Is responsible to maintain comprehensive and accountable records of billable service hours for a minimum of 50% of total work hours for established billing cycle.
Provides Licensure information, training to staff in developing treatment plans which focus on client strengths, needs, and goals utilizing reasonable time frames for successful achievement.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with other Tribal Programs and relevant non-Tribal programs that may be potential resources to children, adults, and families.
Participates in multi-disciplinary team staffing and trainings as required.
Provides services and maintains records to meet Level of Care standards and agency policy.
Maintain monthly statistics, complete evaluation criteria as required by contracts, and participate in the reports needed at the end of the fiscal year.
Assure Center Quality Assurance of Program is progressive and assist Program Director with development of Strategic planning to meet federal and state requirements.
Carry out other duties as assigned by Program Director.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles, practices, and professional standards of providing clinical mental health to Tribal communities.
Knowledge of Yakama Nation personnel policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate and establish a good working relationship with various Tribal programs and
address problems and issues tactfully and objectively.
Ability to write concise reports, memoranda, and letters.
Ability to develop comprehensive program plans.
Ability to supervise the work of others.
Skilled in use of computers and software.
Experience and confidence identifying and implementing evidence-based practices.
Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families.
Skilled in writing or collaborating in the writing of grants for future funding possibilities.
Knowledge of maintaining appropriate coding quality and productivity established by HCA, AMA, and CMS.
Must possess knowledge of ICD-10-CM, and DSM-5.
Knowledge of healthcare compliance laws and regulations.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Knowledge of HIPAA privacy, security laws and regulations.
Knowledge of medical necessity and quality improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters in Social Work or closely related field required AND 3-years experience as a Clinical Director in a similar setting, AND 7-years clinical experience working with children and families.
Prefer Native American Minority Specialist, Child Mental Health Specialist, or Geriatric Mental Health Specialist certifications.
Must possess or obtain a Washington State License that meets billing, supervision, and signature requirements. Position requires ability to drive a vehicle and have adequate vision.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Requirements:
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
