The Human Resources Manager plans and carries out policies relating to all phases of human resources activities. Responsible for Employee on-boarding, Performance Management, Employment Development, Policy Administration, Payroll and Time Attendance. The Human Resources Manager will foster close cooperation and interactions with internal and external liaisons, including leadership, Human Resources Managers, colleagues, Vendors, Civic and community leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strengthen internal communications with and between associates through meetings, written communications, and activities, etc. to ensure superior knowledge and understanding of company objectives, plans, and results.
- Able to work flexible or extended hours dependent on business demands when needed.
- Handling of union contracts and grievances and administering employee discipline are preferred.
- Oversees all Benefits Administration as is relates to Open Enrollment, Plan changes and Plan implementation.
- Benefits Administration includes: Group Life, STD, Dental, Vision and Health.
- Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Keeps records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Assesses and responds to high level personnel issues including employee misconduct, harassment and discrimination investigations.
- May administer pre-employment tests to applicants.
- May participate in negotiations of collective bargaining agreement.
- Attend departmental meetings
- Provides leadership and direction to Plant Safety Committee, Production Safety Team and other groups as needed.
- Keeps in touch with managers, supervisors and associates so they are good company / HR advocates. Promptly address complaints and, Safety or Security related grievances to achieve superior morale, attitude, and team play.
- Promote and maintain good associate and management relations.
- Responsibilities may also include unexpected job duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent in general discipline of Human Resources, Management or Business and Five (5) years Human Resources experience.
- SHRM certification.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, creativity, enthusiasm and the ability to work effectively with all constituencies both in and outside of the plants.
- Must be able to manage multiple high level activities simultaneously.
Experience Required
Strong experience in a Union environment.
Experience Preferred
UKG (UltiPro) Software experience a plus

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
