We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Center Director to lead our new Early Learning Center in Downingtown, PA. The Center Director will be responsible for the overall management of the center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role requires a leader with a passion for early childhood education, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a team while meeting regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Center Tours and Enrollment:
- Conduct engaging and informative tours for prospective families.
- Promote the center’s programs and philosophy to prospective parents, ensuring enrollment goals are met.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new families.
2. Budget Management:
- Manage the center’s budget, including monitoring expenses and revenue to ensure financial sustainability.
- Work with the regional director or owner to develop annual budgets and financial plans.
- Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of care and education.
3. Staffing and Leadership:
- Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified teachers and staff members.
- Schedule staff to meet ratios and maintain a positive work environment.
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain required child-to-teacher ratios.
- Conduct regular teacher observations to ensure instructional quality and adherence to center policies.
4. Teacher Training and Development:
- Develop and implement ongoing training and professional development programs for teachers.
- Mentor and support teachers to enhance their skills and classroom practices.
- Ensure staff meet the center’s standards for curriculum implementation and child engagement.
5. Accreditation and Licensing:
- Lead the center’s efforts to obtain and maintain Keystone STARS and NAEYC accreditation.
- Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania state licensing requirements, including health and safety regulations.
- Regularly review and update policies and procedures to align with accreditation and licensing standards.
6. Parent Relations:
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and families.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress, center events, and any concerns.
- Address and resolve parent concerns in a timely and professional manner.
7. Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring a high standard of care and education.
- Implement and maintain a high-quality early childhood curriculum.
- Ensure that the center is always tour-ready, with classrooms organized and clean.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania state licensing requirements, Keystone STARS, and NAEYC accreditation processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, staffing, and operational logistics effectively.
