What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Specialist position at Confidential?

Overview: The Collections Specialist contacts customers with past due accounts receivable balances, and performs soft collections activities in the pursuit of the collection of those balances. Additionally, this role collaborates with sales management in the pursuit of collections through sales relationships. This is primarily a telephone-based job, and there’s an expectation of high call throughput and consistent and organized collections activities. There are currently two members of the collections team.
Essential Functions
- Contacts customers primarily through the use of the telephone, in pursuit of collections of past due accounts receivable balances.
- Organizes collections activities based on guidance from management, as well as own judgment of the magnitude of past due balances, primarily indicated through aging and size of balance.
- Assists customers in acquiring missing invoices and statements of account.
- Works closely with Accounts Receivable Specialists to resolve billing discrepancies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education in Accounting or related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of related experience required, with demonstrated success in B2B collections conducted primarily over the telephone.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
Pay Range: $45,000 -$50,000 base salary with up to $10,000 in bonuses payable quarterly based on collections metrics
