POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE

The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a critical role in the management and leadership of nursing staff, and the delivery of client care within the facility. The Director of Nursing is a key figure in ensuring that nursing care meets high standards of quality and safety, while also managing the department's operations efficiently. The principal functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are duties and responsibilities that the Director of Nursing shall provide:

• Responsible for the successful planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Nursing department, abiding by accreditation and facility standards
• Suggests and improves current nursing processes
• Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises nursing staff
• Oversees the care provided by nursing staff for clients
• Oversees infection control responsibilities
• Provides direct nursing care, as necessary, and performs functions of a staff nurse, as required
• Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assists in the evacuation of patients, when needed
• Demonstrates dependable and regular attendance
• Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team

EDUCATIONAL & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The Director of Nursing requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (a Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred), along with:

• Active nursing licensing in good standing
• Prior behavioral health, addiction recovery, and detox experience (required)
• 5 years leading a nursing team
• Flexibility to adjust to the needs of fast-paced environments, with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Display oral/written communication
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen

Job Type: Full-time
