Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain case files and documents
- Prepare and manage correspondence with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Schedule appointments, depositions, and court hearings
- Transcribe dictations and prepare accurate written transcripts
- File documents with the court and other administrative tasks as needed
- Perform data entry and maintain databases of case information
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Utilize document management systems to organize and retrieve files
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and phone etiquette
This position requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all tasks performed. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess excellent time management skills. Previous experience as a litigation paralegal or in a similar role is preferred.
