POSITION SUMMARY
A client of Sikich is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist in Brookfield, WI. The ideal candidate possesses professionalism, excellent communication skills, and adaptability to work with diverse personalities. Responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and facilitating seamless communication within the medical office. Clerical and clinical duties required for efficient medical practice operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain professional communication standards and promptly handle incoming phone calls, assisting callers with tasks such as appointment scheduling, provider paging, and new consultations.
· Manage voicemail retrieval, ensuring timely return of patient calls, and initiate and organize charts for infusion patients, facilitating their daily appointment scheduling.
· Prepare charts for upcoming appointments, ensuring availability of lab and test results, and manage post-appointment processes, including preparing lab slips, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing After Visit Summaries
· Update and maintain hospital lists, handle incoming faxes by printing and sorting them, and conduct follow-up with patients’ post-hospital discharge.
· Adhere to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality and assist in electronic calendar management, recording provider absences, scheduling off-site patient appointments, and synchronizing calendars during scheduling coordinator absences.
· Coordinate office calendars and whiteboard, overseeing provider absences and coverage locations as needed during scheduling coordinator absences.
· Communicate with providers regarding patient inquiries, needs, and orders, and assist providers during patient exams and office procedures.
· Conduct rooming of clinic patients, obtaining vital signs, health history, and visit purpose, and perform minor wound care, dressing changes, and PICC line removal when necessary.
· Administer immunizations/vaccines as required, complete prior authorizations for procedures and medications mandated by insurance companies, and handle medication refills.
· Ensure cleanliness in exam rooms by sanitizing after each visit, restocking supplies, and daily instrument cleaning.
· Demonstrate a strong work ethic and proactively take initiative and discern opportunities to contribute without explicit requests, showcasing a proactive and engaged approach to teamwork.
· Perform other assigned duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
· Either MA or CAN Certification required
· Two years of MA or CNA experience preferred.
· Clinic experience preferred.
· Medical Secretary experience preferred.
