Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing both weekly and biweekly payroll accurately. The position will own full cycle payroll, exempt and non-exempt, travel expense reporting, and analysis and other financial activities within the organization.
Education: Associates degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or three (5) years of progressive experience in the Payroll field.
Experience: Three (5) plus years payroll experience in a manufacturing setting. Union Experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Payroll processing and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment a must.
- Automated payroll experience a must. UKG payroll experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal and State payroll tax requirements.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Compassion and EMPATHY
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong team player with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Payroll
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Partner w/Human Resources on a daily basis.
- Partner w/Department Heads on a daily basis
- Track employee attendance and points
- Process employee change forms.
- Reconcile payroll on a weekly/biweekly/annually basis.
- Payroll Journal entries.
- Weekly 401k reporting.
- Annual and semiannual 401k testing/reporting.
- Process all expense reports submitted by employees in accordance to published guidelines.
- Misc. Accounting
- Generate entries to accrue vacation and holiday expense.
- Reconcile all GL accounts associated with payroll including accruals, vacation, holiday, FSA, 401k etc.
- Other duties may be required and assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
