The Recruiter plays an integral role in the growth of the company by understanding the needs of hiring managers and sourcing the best talent to fill open positions. The responsibilities of a recruiter include identifying future hiring needs, sourcing candidates through databases, social media, and job boards, screening candidates, and negotiating compensation.
The recruiter is expected to know general industry trends and be within the market segment to identify top accounts, forecast opportunities, and consult with candidates. They are also expected to share best practices and maintain and develop relationships within the industry to foster stronger business relations.
Job Responsibilities
- Source candidates through various resources (job boards, internal candidates, employee referrals, local colleges, professional networking groups, etc.) and keep track of each candidate throughout the process.
- Post assigned positions to professional networking sites and/or job boards.
- Manage the monthly budget. Track and change as needed to ensure budget optimization.
- Work with the Marketing team to maintain a presence on professional social media sites (including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook), keeping them updated with new opportunities and consistently adding new posts.
- Thoroughly pre-screen candidates with thorough resume reviews, phone interviews, in-person interviews, web-based interviews, and reference verifications.
- Follow up with candidates throughout the interview process; providing interview tips, company history and culture, and job information.
- Negotiate salary expectations and communicate with the HR Director and Hiring Manager the expectations of the candidate.
- Coordinate and extend job offer to candidates, with clear communication regarding each hire with HR Director and Hiring Manager.
- Send and ensure the completion of hiring documents: offer letters, new hire paperwork, and other onboarding documents.
- Request and process DMV reports and background checks.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Manage employee data in Paychex and Operations’ systems.
- Develop an understanding of employment law concerning recruiting, pre-hire screening, and onboarding.
- Gain client and industry knowledge through onsite meetings and relationship-building events.
- Stay up-to-date on recruiting trends by participating in ongoing training in the recruiting industry.
- Assist with the performance management program
- Maintain recruiting metrics.
- Assist with the termination process.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Results-driven, sense of urgency, and high standard of professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and proven ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- Must have good judgment of character and work ethic.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to attend job fairs and networking events.
- Must be able to discuss salary with candidates and effectively negotiate pay.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Internet, and email systems.
- Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred
Desire Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of recruiting experience in a corporate or staffing environment is desired.
- HR Administration experience desire
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
