RESPONSIBILITIES
Being hands-on by performing administrative duties including clearly defining operating objectives, setting property goals, striving for continual performance and improvement, analyzing reports either written by the GM or provided to him/her by direct reports, and communicating with guests and other peers.
· Accountable for the year-to-year Business Plan, Forecast, and Budget reports and able to explain a deviation.
· Keep abreast of local, state, and federal wage and hour laws, business taxes, liquor laws need for permits and licenses, CAL OSHA requirements are met and required records are maintained.
· Interview, hire supervise and coach department heads and their leads in the efficient operations of their respective areas. In addition, establish and maintain an effective operation training program for all departments against any contingency staffing issues.
· Physically tour and visually inspect property daily with respective managers and lead staff. Monitor and strategically come up with solutions against any cost control, property condition, cleanliness, and quality of product and service throughout all of the hotel.
· Participate in community affairs and maintain a positive public image to meet with potential and current clients and promote the hotel.
· Point person to monitor hotel safety programs.
· Maybe required to assist other positions when needed at the hotel or within the department when needed.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years in full-service hotel operations as a General Manager. He/she must have a deep knowledge of Operations Management, specifically in Rooms and Food & Beverage. Brand experience is highly preferred.
Licenses or Certificates
CHS or CHA preferred.
