We are looking for an energetic Supervisor to join our Management Team. We are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills and wants to grow with our company.
Job Summary:
A retail supervisor is responsible for supervising retail employees and overseeing their work to ensure customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Maintains a pleasurable shopping experience by ensuring retail floor is kept clean, neatly organized, and that merchandise is placed in the proper locations and is labeled correctly.
· Coordinates with Accounting and Operations to verify, as needed, all vendor invoices for payment by ensuring that pricing, quantity received, and unit of measures are correct.
· Assists Accounting and Operations personnel, as needed to research problem invoices for appropriate resolution of any issues.
· Reviews Accounts Receivable Detailed Aging report monthly.
· Assists in follow-up and resolution of any accounts that are past 30 days due.
· Reviews Open Invoice Value report on at least a monthly basis.
· Follows up with vendors on backorders and works with customers to complete orders.
· Responds to and resolves customer issues and requests in a timely manner.
· Actively participates in weekly store meetings and communicates any pertinent information to supervisor and direct reports.
· Assists with procuring products and signage for store displays.
· Plans for and assists with preparation of in-store events.
· Actively assists with initiatives to increase sales volume in store.
· Makes recommendations to remove slow-moving items and potential new products.
· Provides recommendations on high volume products that may be beneficial to stock in-house at a higher margin.
· Locates items requested by customers not normally stocked in the store.
· Actively engages with customers and meets established metrics for volume of sales calls.
· Supervises personnel to meet performance metrics and ensure a consistently high level of customer service.
· Monitors employee performance and responds to performance issues through formal and informal counseling and discipline.
· Escalates on-going, unresolved performance issues to HR for potential disciplinary action.
· Schedules employees to best meet customer and operational demands while controlling overtime costs.
· Maintains accurate and comprehensive documentation of personnel issues.
· Hires and trains new employees for them to perform all aspects of job accountabilities efficiently and in a safe manner.
o Cross-trains employees to cover gaps in service due to both scheduled and unscheduled time off.
· Ensures employees maintain a neat, professional appearance through appropriate dress and personal hygiene.
· Education and Experience:
· High school degree required. Associate degree preferred.
· Two to Three years’ experience in retail management including supervision of team.
· Experience in outside sales and establishing relationships with key decision makers.
· General knowledge of warehousing and inventory control procedures preferred.
· Knowledge of point-of-sale software preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
