Responsibilities:
Working under direct supervision of the Mgr, Sales, selecting from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities, the Account Manager is responsible for establishing new accounts through outbound cold calling and prospecting. The Account Manager develops and manages long-term business to business sales relationships with the company’s small to medium business customers to demonstrate account and industry growth. The Account Manager assesses customer needs and provides viable technology options through needs assessments and utilization of internal and external resources. The Account Manager ensures account growth in line with individual and company sales goals and established position metrics.

- Develops relationships with potential customers through prospecting, account qualification and outbound phone cold calling in the hopes of establishing long-term business relationships.
- Prospects online to identify potential new customers through research
- Qualifies accounts by determining if the company is of the appropriate size, who the main point of contact is for the organization and determines company’s IT spend potential
- Makes outbound cold calls to potential customers soliciting an attempt to establish a relationship leading to future sales

Maintains relationships with established customers to ensure repeat business.
- Communicates and follows up with customers on a regular basis in order to keep conversation open to future sales
- During customer communication, continues to discover how customers operate their business and what technologies they utilize to conduct that business; keeping an open ear to discover any areas for improvement in their IT infrastructure.
- Ensures customer is informed in a timely manner on the status of any issues, orders, or other inquiries

Researches and engages appropriate internal and external resources to develop IT solutions to meet customer needs
- Engages vendors, tech support, Ingram Micro, etc. as needed
- Develops customer solution based on customer needs and input from appropriate resources

Engages appropriate company resources to provide appropriate pricing for customers while maintaining maximum profit margin. Ensures accuracy of information based on proposed solution.
- Delivers quotes and pricing within customer time constraints
- Revises quotes and pricing based on feedback from customer or the customers changing needs
- Ensures customer is kept apprised of any stock limitations or other issues that arise for solution being proposed

Keeps apprised of most up to date and state of the art solutions through Connection or vendor training, some of which will be mandatory, and other educational activities
- Reviews company intranet for any relevant changes to vendor information, etc.
- Engages vendors at site to explore their products and technologies/offerings
- Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.
