The Director of Incentive Compensation leads a team dedicated to the company’s variable incentive compensation. The Director collaborates with Senior/Executive Management on designing relevant incentive compensation plans that are measurable and that drive desired behaviors. The Director is responsible for design, development, and implementation of all requirements within our sales performance management software. The Director creates and enforces variable compensation plans, procedures, and best practices to align with company policies, to adhere to auditing standards, and to ensure fairness to all participants. The Director is responsible for data completeness, integrity, and consistency across multiple reporting and compensation data sources. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining metrics that measure the compensation relative to company performance.
Responsibilities
- Leads efforts to design, develop and implement custom functionality in performance management software.
- Develops incentive comp plan design/calculation.
- Creates reporting views/exports for users.
- Collaborates with Senior/Executive management and Human Resources on designing relevant variable compensation plans, then modeling, testing, and recommending changes to ensure the desired behaviors.
- Enforces variable compensation plans, procedures, and best practices to align with company policies, to adhere to auditing standards, and to ensure fairness to all participants through careful analysis and consistent practices.
- Works with Human Resources managers to ensure adherence and compliance to company and regulatory policies, communication to employees, and alignment with total rewards.
- Ensures data completeness, integrity, and consistency across various reporting and compensation data sources.
- Reviews daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations and the performance of routine research.
- Manages employee functions and leads the development of team employees by transferring knowledge of the business, software tools used, and best practices in data integrity, reporting, and variable compensation.

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, creating documents in Word to included advanced formatting, creating spreadsheets to include the use of macros.
- Intermediate to advanced Sales Performance Management software skills with the ability to design data crediting processes, compensation plans and user-friendly visual and data outputs.
- In-depth knowledge of primary company functional areas such as Sales, Technology Sales, Finance, Purchasing & Product Management.
- Latest best practices in variable compensation including knowledge of comp plan modeling.
- Resourceful problem solver with ability to resolve a variety of problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Leadership skills with ability to manage and develop a team.
- Interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
