Job Description

Job Title: Jr Structural Engineer

Location: Sandy, UT

Duration: Contract-to-direct hire, Long-term

Pay range: $40 -$45/hr DOE

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a candidate that is willing to learn, self-starter, willing to take on increasingly more difficult tasks and project and someone willing to meet with clients and be outward facing at times with client.

This person will often be required to function as part of a multi-discipline design team consisting of mechanical, electrical and civil engineers and designers.

Will also have increasing responsibility to learn to define scope, create cost estimates and execute the associated projects within budget and on schedule.

Job Requirements:

B.S. in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited college or university.

Passed the EIT/FE. PE OK, or must be willing to obtain a PE once eligible.

M.S. degree with structural engineering emphasis preferred

0-3 years of experience in the design of steel, concrete and wood structures

Knowledgeable in the following codes and standards IBC, ASCE/SEI 7, ACI, AISC, NDS,

OSHA and MSHA

Masonry design and detailing

MSHA Certificate is a plus

Willing to travel for short durations. Extended travel may be occasionally required.

Experience with Bentley Structures or RAM products is preferred.

Knowledge in the majority of the following:

Shallow foundation design and detailing
Deep foundation design and detailing
Structural steel design and detailing including steel joist with metal roof deck, composite

floor slab, towers, pipe racks and equipment supports
Concrete design and detailing of post-tensioned two-way slabs
Wood design and detailing of Type 3 and Type 5 construction
Seismic design including all types of braced and moment frames
Vibrations as applied to equipment induced in structures
