Job Description
The Maintenance Technician handles the troubleshooting of equipment problems, repair and maintenance of food equipment and repair & maintenance of the plant facilities. This work is performed in conformity with departmental procedure and food safety considerations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic problems with plant equipment, utilities, and facilities.
- Performs mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic repair actions as needed or directed.
- Participates in plant or department start-ups to assure safe and efficient start-ups.
- Inspects the work and initiates corrective measures to meet established standards.
- Assists in specifying and ordering repair parts through supplier channels.
- Participates in the performance and monitoring of preventive maintenance measures.
- Any other task or duty as assigned by management or as is deemed necessary by management to insure a safe and orderly environment.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- One year experience or other maintenance responsibilities that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures.
- High level of organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starting in orientation and aggressive in pace.
- Good general familiarity food manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
