Technical Writer

Continental Utility Solutions, Inc. (CUSI), a national leader in utility management software and technology services, is currently seeking a Technical Writer in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The successful candidate will possess at least 2-4 years of technical writing experience. The position will be responsible for creating clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation for software products, ensuring that users can effectively understand, implement, and troubleshoot software applications. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the overall user experience and facilitating the successful use of CUSI software.

Responsibilities shall include:

· Write, edit, and maintain various forms of technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, online help, release notes, API documentation, internal workflow, process documentation, and RFP documents.

· Identify and understand the needs of various user groups to tailor documentation content appropriately.

· Work closely with Development and Product teams to understand software features and functionality.

· Collect information about software features, functionality, and updates to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness in the documentation.

· Collect and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve and update documentation.

· Work with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation aligns with product releases and updates.

· Plan and coordinate documentation release schedules to align with software updates and product launches.

Should be proficient in technical skills that include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in technical writing, particularly in software documentation.
• Strong proficiency in documentation tools.
• Knowledge in Visual Studio, C#, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, Browser-based applications, and Agile development practices.
• Experience writing RFP documents.

Knowledge of Customer Information Systems, Billing Applications, Accounting, Customer Relationship Management Applications, Geographic Information Systems and/or the Utility sector are a significant plus.
