What are the responsibilities and job description for the TUG Operator position at Continental?
Job Description
The TUG Operator is responsible for operating, calibrating, and pre-use checks for the TUG machine. Trouble shooting, data reporting, non-conformities communication to supervision are required. The TUG Operator is responsible for using hand tools, gauges, etc. to perform assigned responsibilities.
- TUG Operator is required to perform all Pre-use quality assurance checks of the TUG machines.
- TUG Operator is required to perform start- up and re-certification of check tires to acceptable standards.
- TUG Operator is required to perform chuck change overs depending on production needs.
- TUG Operator will utilize hand tools, both power and manual, in the performance of the job.
- TUG Operator will utilize Data interface to collect and report information to Final Finish Supervisor.
- TUG Operator will follow all plant policies, environmental policies and plant and department safety policies.
- TUG Operator will follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to obtain quality and quantity production promptly and accurately, keep work areas neat, clean, aligned and orderly.
- TUG Operator’s time will be accurately and correctly indicated on timecards or time sheets according to operation number, rates and the number of units processed.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Final Finish Supervisor, Lead Supervisor and/or Department Manager.
- Ability to read and understand specifications
Must be able to read and understand written and oral instructions.
Communicate with other inbound and outbound operators, production operators, and supervision.
Demonstrates the characteristics of 5S to keep work areas neat, clean, aligned, and orderly.
Exposed to high heat and dust. Must be able to stand the entire shift, frequently stoop, bend, walk long distances, climb stairs. Full range of motion and the ability to use both arms/hands to perform job. Have good vision acuity with the ability to distinguish colors.
Physical Demands:
Heavy: 100 lbs. max with frequent carrying of 50 lbs.; with the ability to manipulate/roll a 150 lb. Truck Tire.
