What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLINICAL NURSE I - EMERGENCY ROOM position at Cook County Health & Hospitals System?
LOCATION: PROVIDENT HOSPITAL (500 E 51st St, Chicago, IL 60615)
SHIFT: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (36 hours per week/72 hours per pay period)
The Clinical Nurse I position is an entry level professional nursing position under close supervision. This individual utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; provides input to policies and standards of care; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required. Continues to establish and expand personal clinical base of nursing knowledge and skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- One (1) year of Emergency Department experience within the last three (3) years.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or able to obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting. (Must provide proof at time of interview if already obtained)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or able to obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting.. (Must provide proof at time of interview if already obtained)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or able to obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting.. (Must provide proof at time of interview if already obtained)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university.

A copy of a valid State ID Card or Driver’s License which identifies the holder of the ID as a Veteran, may also be attached to the application at time of filing.
If items are not attached, you will not be eligible for Veteran Preference.
