Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Records File Clerk to join our team! This is a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm. The Medical Records File Clerk is responsible for filing and retrieving medical records as assigned, performing quality assurance on patients’ medical records, and monitoring permanent file areas.
Responsibilities Include:
- Upload documents to patient charts in a timely and accurate manner. Documents include but are not limited to script requests, prior authorizations, consult notes, referral requests, and lab or imaging results.
- Accurately route all documents to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Work collaboratively with internal physician groups to gather correct, complete data necessary to ensure that the clinical responsibilities are facilitated for both the patient and the physician groups.
- Work productively with all members of the Mass General Brigham Medical Group. Develop, accept and contribute to all goals and objectives established by the department.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic clerical experience required
- Basic computer and filing skills required
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Epic experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated customer service and communication skills required
- Demonstrated proficiency in scanning and medical record document type recognition required
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of a medical office setting preferred
